Hiring Camp Maynard
Below is some general information on hiring Camp Maynard. Please also view our 'Rules & Regulations' page for further information or request an information pack which contains a comprehensive list of requirements for hiring the camp. Firstly - to check if the dates you are looking for are available - go to the 'Bookings Calendar' section. This is updated weekly with all new bookings. It is the best place to start. We take bookings up to 18 months in advance. Please note, Public holidays, school holidays and weekends book out quickly - some 8 months in advance, so it pays to book early.
Capacity - Our camp site sleeps 60 persons only - this is also what our septic system is designed to cope with. Groups larger than this cannot be accommodated.
Hiring the camp - Public Fees 2024 - (If you are a Scout or Girl Guide Group, please contact us for Scout/Guide rates)
Our camp fees for public/private/community groups for 2024 are as follows:
Booking Fee $50 - a one-off, non refundable fee, payable with the deposit, within 14 days of making a pencil booking.
Deposit -$250 - Payable with the booking fee, within 14 days of making a pencil booking. Should your booking then be cancelled by you, this deposit becomes non-refundable (unless we receive an equal booking to replace your booking, on the same dates, in which case, a refund may be considered). The deposit is deducted from your fee invoice.
Bond $600, payable along with full fees 21 days prior to your camp dates (this will be invoiced to you). The bond (less deductions for any cleaning, damage, losses etc) will be refunded, usually within 30 days of the completion of your camp stay.
Day Charge - 9am - 4pm OR 5pm - 12 midnight (5pm Sun Night - 4pm Friday - see note below re weekends)
$12.00 per person - minimum charge for 30 persons
If you wish to utilise the camp for the entire day - ie 9am till midnight (but not overnight), the fee will be $24 per person - minimum charge for 30 persons.
Overnight Charge - 5pm on day of arrival till 4pm on day of departure
$24 per person, per night - minimum charge is for 30 persons
Early Arrival or late check out - For those staying overnight who wish to arrive early on the first day (before 5pm) or depart later on the final day (after 4pm)- the day charge of $12 per person will apply in addition to the overnight fee. Any groups wishing to do both (arrival early on first day and leave late on final day),will need to pay a day charge for both of those days.
Exclusive Use - The indoor and outdoor sections of the camp are hired out separately, however, if you are booking indoors and wish exclusive use of the entire camps site, this can be accommodated with payment of our exclusive use fee ($80 per day or part thereof). No outdoor campers will then be booked at the same time as you.
Weekends - Please note weekends are only hired out as whole weekends (Friday 5pm - Sunday 4pm), minimum charge for 30 persons per night for the 2 nights applies.
Internet Access/WiFi - is now included provided free of charge. The password will be sent out with the key.
Payment of Fees - Invoices are issued, based on your numbers, 4-5 weeks prior to your camp dates and payment in full (including the bond, but less deposit already paid) and payment in full is required a minimum of 21 days prior to your camp dates. The key to the camp will only be released once full payment has been received. If you have additional persons attending after the invoice has been paid, payment can be made any time prior to the camp dates and up to 7 days after the camp. Please note, there are no refunds given for any fees paid, for any reason, within 21 days of the camp date.

2025 fees will be increasing to $28 per person per night & $14 per person day charge.
